Rosary Garden uses cookies for various reasons. Here are a few examples:

This allows me, as the owner of this site, to see how many people visit, when they visit, where they visit from, what kind of device they use, etc. This is a third-party service.

Videos - Cookies are set to store data related to the behavior of viewers while watcing embedded videos (live and recorded) from YouTube. This is a third-party service.

Custom - A cookie is set to keep track of your decision to accept the use of cookies. This is the only cookie that I set, as the owner of this website.

Other Data

In the interest of full disclosure, there is indeed certain data that all websites know about your visit, even without the use of cookies. In other words, you cannot control this. Here's an example of some of the data that I know about your visit today:

The host name is an indicator of your internet service provider (perhaps you recognize the name). The language is your default language; many sites will use this to automatically present their content in your preferred language (I only speak English, so I don't use this). The agent, while long and perhaps confusing, indicates what operating system you're using, what browser you use, etc.

For your protection, every major browser allows you to view information about a website, specifically, information about the security of the site. If you use Google Chrome on a traditional computer, look near the top of your browser window next to the website address "rosarygarden.net/privacy-statement", and click in the small lock icon (other browsers have a similar icon).

The resulting pop up window contains some very important information:

Connection is secure - This means that all data that transmitted between your device and my website is done so securely and cannot be intercepted or compromised in the process. It should be pointed out that this is not an e-commerce website; you don't need to sign up or enter any personal data in order to use the site. Many sites like this are not secure; most experts argue that a site like this does need to be secure since no personal data is transmitted. While I agree with that statement, I've decided to make it secure anyway.

Certificate - This is a somewhat technical feature. It allows you to view information that certifies the validity of the security settings on this site. My advice to most website users is to simply make sure this setting shows that the certificate is "valid". Feel free to click on it to view additional information.

Cookies - This allows you to view the cookies that are set for this site. In addition to viewing them, you can also remove them and you can even completely block all cookies from being set on this site in the future.

Summary

In summary, this website uses cookies. But I do not need any personal data about you in order to run the Rosary Garden website. Therefore I don't ask for it, therefore I can't store it, therefore it is never transmitted, and therefore there is no way for me to ever disclose it to anyone.
